     Brigadier (Rtd) Stephen Njung’e Kihu

    Brigadier (Rtd) Stephen Njung’e Kihu, EBS joined Central Rift Valley Water Works Development Agency (CRVWWDA) as the Chairman Board of Directors on 20th, March 2020. 
    He is an experienced manager, successful Senior Executive Officer with a track record of leading Kenya Air Force for over 35 years. He also served as Base Commander of Laikipia Air Base where he negotiated and implemented the construction of a multi-million dollar runway at Laikipia Air Base.
    He holds Masters in Business Administration from Moi University, Masters in International Studies from King’s College London, Diploma in Strategic Studies from University of Nairobi and Officers Grade One Staff Course in the UK.
    Brigadier (Rtd) Stephen Njung’e Kihu is a representative of Nakuru County in the board.

  • Mr. Isaac Gichui Kimani - Deputy Director, Operations and Coordination



     Mr. Isaac Gichui Kimani

    Mr. Isaac Gichui Kimani has vast experience of over thirty years in the Ministry of Water, now Ministry of Water, Sanitation and Irrigation where he worked as an assistant geologist.He is the current Deputy Director, Operations and Coordination in the very Ministry. His duties involves; Coordination with Water Sector Institutions, Formulation of Projects/programs, Management of program/project budgets, Supervision of ongoing projects/programs, Head of Asia/ Pacific Program, Project Implementation Monitoring and reporting and finally resource mobilization. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Geology from University of Nairobi, College of Physical science. Mr. Kimani sits in both Technical and Corporate Services Committees at the board.

    Director Kimani represents the Ministry of Water, Sanitation and Irrigation in the Board.

  • Franciscar Jelagat Kamuren - Technical Services and Audit & Risk Management Committees


    Franciscar Jelagat Kamuren

    Franciscar Jelagat Kamuren holds a Master of Arts in English Language and Linguistics from Egerton University and Bachelor of Education (Arts) from Kenyatta University and  currently pursuing a PhD at Kabarak University.

    A former member of Nakuru County Public Service Board, taught for over six years in the University. She has over ten years experience as a Secondary School teacher. The director also sat in a panel responsible with vetting traffic police-Rift Valle region

    Director Franciscar represents the County of Baringo in the board as she serves in the Technical Services and Audit & Risk Management Committees in the board after appointment on 8th, February 2019 and re-appointed on 20th March, 2020.

  • Johnson Mburu Mwamba Kinyanjui - Director



    Johnson Mburu Mwamba Kinyanjui

    Johnson Mburu Mwamba Kinyanjui has ten years of experience in counselling Psychologist and a trainer with a wide background in Education, Management, Leadership, Business and psychosocial treatment in Kenya Defence Force. He is currently pursuing Masters in Counselling Psychology at Kenyatta University, holds Bachelor of Counselling Psychology from Mount Kenya University, Higher Diploma- Family, Marriage and Child from Kenya Methodist University among other academic qualifications.

     He represents the people of Nyandarua County at the Agency.

  • Hon. Samuel Mathenge Ndiritu - Director


    Hon. Samuel Mathenge Ndiritu

    Hon. Samuel Mathenge Ndiritu has a wealth of experience in Construction and Project management, spanning for many years aside from his political experience both as a one term Member of Parliament and under the ministry of water as a  founder director at Nakuru Rural Water and Sanitation Company (NARUWASCO).

    He holds a Bachelors of Construction Management Degree from Technical University of Kenya, Higher Diploma in Construction-Building Economics from Kenya Polytechnic and Diploma in Building from Mombasa Polytechnic.

    In the board, he chairs Corporate Services Committee and a also serve as a member of the Technical Services Committee. He represents the County of Nakuru at the Agency since his appointment on February 8th, 2019.

  • Henry Mutwiri Riungu - Chief Investment Officer National Treasury


    Henry Mutwiri Riungu

    Henry Mutwiri Riungu was appointed as Director on 8th April, 2019, serves as Chief Investment Officer National Treasury, senior finance officer and Deputy Head of the World Bank division-resource mobilization- department of the National Treasury, ministry of finance- prices and monopolies officer and in the Office of the President-as procurement officer.

    With an experience of over 20 years in public service, Mutwiri holds Masters in Business Administration (finance) from Maseno University and Bachelor of Commerce (Business Admin) from University of Nairobi

    He sits both in Audit & Risk Management and Corporate Services committees and represents the National Treasury.

  • Peter Mwangi Nyutu - works in the Office of the President as Deputy Inspector General Corporations


    Peter Mwangi Nyutu

    Peter Mwangi Nyutu has extensive experience spanning over 31 years. Currently, he works in the Office of the President as Deputy Inspector General Corporations.

    In the same office, holds the positions of Senior Assistant Inspector General Corporations and Senior Assistant Efficiency Monitoring officer.

    Mr. Nyutu  holds Masters in Business Administration from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology and a Degree in Business Education from Kenyatta University. He joined the board on 8th, February 2019 and was re-appointed on 20th, March 2020. The Director  represents the Inspector General of State Corporations in the Board.

  • Douglas Mutai -

    Mr. Douglas Mutai is a career civil servant who has worked with the Government of Kenya for more than 27 years as responsible Senior Civil servant in the field of National Government Administration. Mr Mutai holds a Masters of Arts Degree in Public Policy and Management from Mt. Kenya University and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Public Administration and History from the University of Nairobi. For more than 25 years he worked as a Provincial Administrator to Senior Deputy County Commissioner in various parts of the country before being promoted in to the Senior Deputy Secretary – Ministry of Water Sanitation and Irrigation where he works to date. He is Alternate Director from the ministry and he brings to the Board of CRVWWDA a wide knowledge of administration and governance. He is a strict performer who is driven by achievements.

About Us

The Central Rift Valley Water Works Development Agency (CRVWWDA) is one of the nine (9) Water Works Development Agencies in Kenya and was formed under Section 65 of the Water Act, 2016. It was established through Kenya Gazette Notice No. 4 dated 7thFebruary 2020. The region served by the Agency comprise of the five Counties of Nakuru, Narok, Laikipia, Baringo and Nyandarua.
